After careful consideration, Yahoo! has decided to close GeoCities later this year.

You can continue enjoying your GeoCities service until then — we just wanted you to let you know about the closure as soon as possible. We'll share more details this summer. For now, please visit the help center for more information.

If you are using geocities or googlepages hosting then be fast to backup your files and upload to any other server for hosting your files.As googlepages if closing next month and your sites will be automatically redirected to google sites and if your googlpages account has nay files hosted on it download them in zip format fast from your googlepages account.

How To Check Who Is Invisible On Yahoo Messenger

You have often seen that your friend in Yahoo Messenger list is always offline? Is it the right status? If the answer is yes, at this entry, I would like to give a trick i.e how to know the exact status on Yahoo Messenger of your friends. The offline status of your friend is not necessarily true because in Yahoo Messenger, you have a feature that allows you to hide the online status i.e you are invisible to your friends.

Now how can we detect the online status of your friend? It is very easy. You will find many sites on the web that provide the Yahoo Messenger Status Detector. Now I would like to recommend http://www.ydetector.com because its working fine. This site is one of the good providers of Yahoo Messenger Status Detector.

On the site, you only need to enter the Yahoo Messenger ID of your friend that displayed Offline into the search box available. For more clear, see the image below:

For more sites that provide this service are listed below.

http://yahoostatus.ro
http://www.vizgin.com
http://www.yahoo-status.com

I hope you will enjoy now checking the status of your friends.

How Split Blogger Header Into Two Sections

How Split Blogger header Into Two different Sections,ya as you have seen header section on left side in blogger layout and and one section in right side where you can add your add banners.Now i will show you how you can split your blogs header into two widgets like the following screenshot.

First i recommend you backup your template or use a test blog for this example I'm going to use the Minima Template so if you are using a different template the code would be different. The default width of the template header-wrapper code is 660px
(if you don't know what I'm talking about see screenshot below)

So I'm going to set the width of the main header section to 350px and float it to the left see screenshot

Now that's done we can create the second section for the right widget so copy the following code

#header2 {
float:right;
width:250px;
}

And paste it some where in between the opening and closing skin tags like done below

Now copy the following code for the new section

<b:section class='header' id='header2' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='yes'/>

And paste it like in below image,You can Click the below image to see the codes large and clear if not properly visible.

Now save it and go to the page element tab you should have a new section on the right side of the header here's a screenshot of my result

Google Pages Shuttting Down

Google is shutting down the google pages service as it made it to stop for signup users few months ago and now has decided to shut it down completely.So all the sites we were having on googlepages will be moved to google sites.The persons having sites on pages will be automatically moved to google sites and traffic will be redirected to there google sites automatically so no need to worry about it.

Bad news too.

Google won’t move any of files from Pages into Google Sites (since the latter doesn’t provide hosting) but they have created a simple online exporter that you may use to download all your files from Google Pages into a zip archive,so have to backup of all your files.

As we have hosted many of our javacripts files on googlepages and used in our tutorials so please download all the javascripts used in the tutorials and upload to your servers if you are using any of those hacks or widgets.You are adviced to check the scripts again and upload to your server if any problem is coming in hacks as we have exceeded bandwidth and from next month googlepages will shut down so i will try to update the scrips link to another servers so that you can download and upload to yours.

Thanx for your patience,co-ordination and co-operation.senyum

3] Open it in notepad
4] Under "127.0.0.1 localhost" Add 127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com ,
and that site will no longer be accessable.
5] Done!

example :

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com

- www.orkut.com is now unaccessable

For every site after that you want to add,
just add "1" to the last number in the internal ip (127.0.0.2) and
then the addy like before.

To add more sites like this
127.0.0.3 www.yahoo.com
127.0.0.4 www.msn.com
127.0.0.5 www.google.com

This also works with banner sites, just find the host name of the server with the banners and
do the same thing with that addy.

Hope this small tutorial could keep you going in simple way of blocking websites.

Finish and see the result.

Now when you will see the result the stripe will be shown at the below of your page bottom like this in the blog.Check here for Stripe add demo hack for blogger here.

Now some people want to add this stripe at the top of the page where navbar is shown like this add stripe shown in my another blogger widgets blog.

Now if you want it to be shown above like i shown just above in demo site add below css to your blogger above <b:skin> in place of the css you added to show stripe add below the page.

#mta_bar { background: #FFFFE1; border-bottom: 1px solid #808080; margin: 0 0 3px 0; padding: 4px 0; z-index: 100; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; overflow: auto; position: fixed; }
* html #mta_bar{ /*IE6 hack*/
position: absolute; width: expression(document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat"? document.documentElement.clientWidth+"px" : body.clientWidth+"px"); }
#mta_bar .left { float: left; text-align: center; font-family: Arial; font-size: 13px; font-weight: bold; font-style: normal; color: #0000FF; width:92%;}
#mta_bar .right {font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; float: right; text-align: center; font-weight: normal; font-size: 10px;letter-spacing: 0; width: 30px; white-space: nowrap;}
#mta_bar .right a {font-size: 10px; color: #0000FF; text-decoration: underline;}
#mta_bar .right a:hover {font-size: 10px; color: #0000FF; text-decoration: none;}
#left_bar a { text-decoration: none; color: #0000FF; }
#left_bar a:hover { text-decoration: underline; color: #0000FF; }

As using this css in place of above css you added as at the beginning of the tutorial not only will show the ad stripe at the top but the design is too different.

I will tell you just one css property in codes to show the stripe at the bottom or the top of the page.

In above codes you will see i have made the word top highlighted in red.Just change it to bottom to show it at bottom of page.thats it.You have done.

I hope now you would have no problem in installing this stripe ad in top and bottom of the blogger.If you have any problem leave your comments i will sort it out.

Add Placement Rotator Script For Bloggers

Add Banner Placement rotator,what many bloggers want today in there blogs,many readers asked me for this script but was not able to provide them with the script because it is only available for php users and we blogspot users are not able to use it as we can use only javascript codes,You would have seen all hosted blogs using this add rotator placement feature.

What exactly it is?
You would have seen in many biggie blogs the rotation of add placements in clockwise or anticlockwise direction moving from top to bottom that changes on each page impression of that blog i.e adds interchange there loacation with each other on each new page impression.It is done so as each advertiser who spend thousand Dollars can get equally add placement in blog and equal exposure at top.

For demo of this widget visit my sidebar adds changing position on each page impression on my this demo blog of Blogger Widgets.

As still this rotator i am going to tell you about is working on php,but i found an open source program that help us to provides and submit our adds to it and will provide php link for your widget embeded within javscript codes which you can use in your blogs.

Stepwise explaination on how to make it:-

I am holding this tutorial keeping in mind the features i have in my demo widget i shown you above for 4 advertisers and each given 100 percent weightage.

Step1.Go to Rotatee.com

Step 2.Then Click On the Link Demo which is rotatee.com/demo.php

Step 3.Now at the bottom of the page you will be given one link to sign in with username and password .Just click the link and enter username and password to sign in.

Below is the sign in page with username and password

Password : demo

Step 4.Now got to bottom of the page and click on Create New Campaign.You will be asked for your name fill it and press Enter.And your name will be added in the list.

Step 5.Now find your name in the list as it will be the last one then click on your name.You will be directed to a different page and will ask you create an ADD Banner.Click on that link.

You will be shown the pop up window like this below.

Step 6.Now put any Name in the form or i suggest to put the 1st advertiser name.Then the Weight. Put it to 100 as per requirement of my demo widget,It is to tell percentage of times you want to see that add to be shown out of total page impressions,i.e if your blog receives 4 page impressions and you have choosen weight as 25 it will be shown once.

And in codes write the link and image for your add like below.

Change the link and image with your advertisers.

And Now Save It.

Step 7.Now one of your advertiser has been added.Now again click Add Banner and add your second advertiser.Repeat this process upto 4 times(as i have 4 advertisers in my demo widget) .You can add to any number like 6 or 8 depend upon no of your advertisers.

Step 8.After adding all advertisers Click on Get Code.
You will be shown pop up window like this below.

Note**-Please dont forget to select all option as its shown in image above Show 1 banners at time.Make it to select all in drop down.And then copy codes from window.
